Technology Partners
America has Technology Companies that are the envy of the world. That these firms are unable to find local talent pool to meet their employment needs is shameful.
A recent Financial Times article talked about "High Technology" employment in Silicon Valley in stark terms of skin color and gender, implying that barriers existed to employment there because of percieved biases. It quoted people who had opinions on the matter.
I am not aware of this being the case and I am entirely certain that minorities that have the requsite technical skills will find sutiable employment. We are fairly convinced that lack of technical education and qualification in the field has a lot more to do with the dearth of minorites in technologhy.
The new immigirant is simply new in his or her new surroundings. Some might even have a wealth of qualification but simply do not have the requisite "Life Skills". All will be greatly aided by what we teach.
As someone who has inhabited the technplogy space for most of my life, I see so many opportunities and doors that will open lo those that take the time to learn these lessons we will make available. Out put derived from input that is digested in process is directly proportional to effort.
